- Kurt von Lessen was born on February 27, 1877 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary [now Austria]. He was an actor and writer, known for Der Musikant von Eisenstadt (1934), Immortal Melodies (1936) and The Fairy Dolly (1936). He died on February 12, 1960 in Salzburg, Austria.
- As a librettist, he worked with Alexander Steinbrecher (1910-1982), among others, with whom he wrote the Singspiel in four pictures "Brillanten aus Wien" in 1940.
- At the Salzburg Festival he played "Death" in Jedermann ( play by the Austrian playwright Hugo von Hofmannsthal) in 1935 and 1936.
- At his father's request, he trained as an officer. However, he left the military early and went to the stage.
- On June 28, 1932, the then 55-year-old married 18-year-old Dora Thaler (1914-1970), a later children's and young adult book author, in Vienna.
- Kurt von Lessen was an Austrian actor and writer.
