Biography

Titled, Russian-born German character actor, on stage from 1911. Ensemble member of the Deutsche Theater during the 1920's and prolific in romantic or military roles on screen during this period. Made the transition to sound but died soon after from pneumonia.

Because it was a family tradition to follow a military career he also chose this way first and became an officer.

When he took acting lessons by the famous Albert Steinrück he was able to celebrate his stage debut in 1911 at the "Königliches Hoftheater" in München. He soon became a demanded theater actor who way led him to Berlin finally.
