Ernesto Vollrath(1890-1959)

Ernesto Vollrath (Ernst V. Vollrath) was born in Leipzig Germany in a loving family. He lived in Argentina for some years then it is considered he somehow got back to Germany. He was then headed to America for a new life being still of very young age in the Titanic with his best friend; destiny had other plans for him when a man approached the two travelers and bought their tickets for a higher sum. His family mourned his loss with the sinking of the Titanic. He was in New York when he heard the news and sent a Telegram to his family to let them know they had taken a different boat and were safe. From cleaning to other survival jobs, he somehow ended up in Mexico where he met Clara Lezama (a Mexican with Italian and European heritage. She sang opera mainly at church for their friends weddings and in their house for their kids and friends. She is also described as an extremely kind woman who would open her doors and feed anyone in need). It is said he instantly fell in love with her and made of Mexico his home. His hard work, education, mindset, family's support, drive, and surroundings allowed for him to create the first or three of the first cinemas in the country with his movies partner together with a distribution firm which was ahead of his time; also produced, co-produced, and directed some of the first films of Mexico. He was also known for being a pioneer in the national dental industry. He and Clara had 5 children and adopted 3 from a brother who died whose kids were going to be separated amongst the family; they considered them all their equal sons and daughters. In his house kids took English and piano lessons while living full of love and the companion of the most intellectual, cultural, and business guests. Sadly Clara his beloved wife died at an early age and it is considered her passing along with the costs of the movie industry were the end for his career in such sector; remaining in the dental. He is remember by his family as a loving kind highly educated passionate loyal family man, who did everything for his family and always helped others.
