Roger Viry-Babel was born on 19 January 1945 in Mirecourt, Vosges, France. He was a writer and actor, known for Les z'ados (1978), L'épopée du charbon: L'histoire de la mine et des mineurs (2005) and La case de l'oncle Doc (1997). He was married to Francoise Vity-Babel. He died on 15 May 2006 in Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, France.
