He was a writer and assistant director, known for Un Martien à Paris (1961), The Gendarme of Saint-Tropez (1964) and The Gendarme and the Extra-Terrestrials (1979). He was married to Christiane Bertin. He died on 28 January 1988 in Château-Thierry, Aisne, France.
