Was the original "Annie" in the original production of the musical
before it went to Broadway. She was released from the production after
about a week, not because of her performance, but because she looked
too sweet and delicate, and the director wanted Annie to look like she
had had more of a hard-knock life. The role then went to Andrea
McArdle, who was the first to play it on Broadway.
