Biography

Jean van de Velde was born on March 14, 1957 in Bukavu, Congo. He is a writer and director, known for Leak (2000), An Act of Defiance (2017) and The Silent Army (2008).

Graduated in 1978 from 'De Filmacademie'.

Founded in the early eighties 'Eerste Amsterdamse Filmassociatie', together with René Seegers and Leon de Winter.

He declined the offer to direct Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (2005)

He's the father of Yannick van de Velde.
