Biography

Vavá was born on November 12, 1934 in Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. He is known for Tirando a gol (1966), O Preço da Vitória (1959) and Brasil Verdade (1968). He died on January 19, 2002 in Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil.

Was a two-time World Cup champion with Brazil's national soccer team.

Is one of four soccer players ever to have scored in two World Cup final matches; he did it in 1958 & 1962. The other two were: Pele also of Brazil (1958 and 1970), Paul Breitner of West Germany (1974 and 1982), and Zinedine Zidane of France (1998 and 2006).
