- Martin Varno was born on August 9, 1936. He was a writer, known for Night of the Blood Beast (1958), The Gun Runner (1969) and The Triangle Factory Fire Scandal (1979). He died on June 24, 2014 in Denver, Colorado, USA.

- Martin Vano got the job of writer at the recommendation of writer Jerome Bixby. Roger Corman had wanted to hire Bixby but he was already working on "It! The Terror Beyond Space".
- Martin Vano was not paid as per the agreement with Roger Corman. He filed a complaint with the Writer's Guild even though he wasn't a member. Corman tried to convince Vano to withdraw the complaint promising him more work. Vano refused. Corman was so angry that he told Vano he would never work with him again. As a result, Corman was not allowed to use any guild member writers for years. Corman later paid Vano when a guild member he wanted to (Richard Matheson) hire for a project.
