Biography

Samyuktha Varma is an Indian film actress who primarily worked in the Malayalam film industry. Samyuktha Varma was born in Thiruvalla, Kerala, India. She made her debut in the film industry with the Malayalam film "Veendum Chila Veettukaryangal" in 1999, directed by Sathyan Anthikad. Her performance in the film earned her widespread recognition and appreciation.

Samyuktha went on to establish herself as one of the leading actresses in the Malayalam film industry with her impressive acting skills and versatile roles. Some of her notable films include "Mazhavil Kavadi," "Valyettan," "Meghamalhar," and "Manassinakkare."

She received several awards for her contributions to Malayalam cinema, including the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actress for her role in "Valyettan." Samyuktha Varma's career was relatively short-lived, and she decided to take a hiatus from acting after her marriage to actor Biju Menon in 2002.

Arrested for four hours and questioned at the Chicago airport after she and her relatives she was flying with changed seats, laughed and exchanged notes on the plane. Their behaviour led another passenger to suspect Varma and her entourage were terrorists.

She never thought of becoming an actress, though her aunt Urmila Unni had already been recognized as an accomplished actress. She had also learned dancing, but had no plans to become a professional dancer either. But while she was studying at Sree Kerala Verma College, Thrissur, she got the offer to do the female lead role in 'Veendum Chila Veettukaaryangal'.

Won the Kerala State Award for Best Actress for Veendum Chila Veettukaryangal (1999), and then again the following year for her roles in Madhuranombarakattu (2000), Mazha (2000), Swayamvarapandhal (2000).
