Aristides Vargas was born in 1955 in Cordoba, Argentina. He lived in Mendoza where he studied theater at Cuyo University. When he was 20 he has to flee due to the military coup in Argentina. He have worked and directed several theater groups and he is funder of the theatral group "Malayerba". As an actor he is known for his roles in the Ecuadorian movies La tigra (1990), 1809-1810 mientras llega el día (2004) and Between Marx and a Naked Woman (1996) in which he also wrote the screenplay.
