Walter Van Tilburg Clark was born on 3 August 1909 in East Orland, Maine, USA. He was a writer, known for The Ox-Bow Incident (1943), Studio One (1948) and Track of the Cat (1954). He was married to Barbara Frances Morse. He died on 11 November 1971 in Reno, Nevada, USA.

Inducted into the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame in 1988 (inaugural
induction).
