- Teresa Van Marcke was born on February 23, 1924 in Nieuwpoort, Flanders, Belgium. She was a writer and director, known for Dirk van Haveskerke (1978), Ik zag Cecilia komen (1977) and De moeder en de drie soldaten (1979). She died on November 8, 2020 in Destelbergen, Flanders, Belgium.

- Teresa Van Marcke has punctuated herself in the last decade as a subtle watercolorist, who reveals her nature observations and emotions thanks to a remarkable technical maturity. In an almost lyrical way she brought nature to paper with a lightly abstracted brushstroke. Her themes usually included the mysterious winter world shrouded in mist or the enchantment of the sea and the mountain landscape.
- She had a strong predilection for children's and youth literature, and won the 1986 Knokke Prize for the best Flemish children's book with "De Eenhoorn".
- Her youth books "Stem uit Generzijs", "Vliegen Zonder Vleugels", "Benjamien en Angelica" became bestsellers in Flemish and Dutch youth literature.
