Biography

Jean-Luc Van Damme has been an award-winning film producer for many years. Over the last few decades, he has produced the first music videos in Europe, over five hundred TV Commercials, television programmes, documentaries and mainly short films, as well as over thirty feature films.

The company focuses on the development, production and co-production of films, mainly in English. All these films are international co-productions such as "Sexual Healing" by Julian Temple, "Goodbye Bafana", directed by the famous "Double Palmé" Bille August, "Belle du Seigneur" directed by Glénio Bonder, "Let Me Survive" by the Mexican director Eduardo Rossoff or "Sisters in Arms" directed by Caroline Fourest. Many of these films have won awards at festivals around the world.

Our mission is to focus on the creative relationship between a writer and a director, giving them the chance to explore and develop the full potential of a project, maximising the chemistry of this collaboration to produce a unique script of great originality and commercial viability.

Happy Moon Productions produces quality films with strong concepts based on contemporary themes.

In 2023, Jean-Luc Van Damme was the President of the feature film jury at the Al Hoceima Film Festival in Morocco. In 2024 he's member of the jury of the Young Director Award, the only award dedicated to rising young Director. He's also a guest speaker at the Johannesburg Film Festival.
