Ian Valz was born on 28 August 1957 in Georgetown, British Guiana [now Guyana]. He was an actor and writer, known for Panman: Rhythm of the Palms (2007) and Trade Winds (1993). He was married to Patricia Atmodimedjo. He died on 28 April 2010 in St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles.

Relocated to St. Maarten in the Netherlands Antilles in 1984.

Was knighted in the order of Oranje Nassau by her majesty, <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0703067/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands</a> of the Netherlands in 2006.
