  • Christos Valavanidis was a Greek actor and poet whose career had spanned theater, film, and television. He had graduated from the National Theatre Drama School in 1973 and had performed in a wide range of works including ancient drama, Attic comedy, operetta, musical theater, pantomime, and revue. He had co-founded the Apo Michanis Theatro with his wife Aspasia Kralli, transforming a former factory into a modern performance space. His stage credits had included 'Mormolis', 'Papoutsomenos gatos', 'To imeroma tis strigglias', 'Alkistis - Kyklopas', 'Dolly', and 'Avli ton thavmaton', while his television appearances had included To minore tis avgis (1983), Oi afthairetoi (1989), and Siga... I patrida Koimatai (1988). In film, he had appeared in Loafing and Camouflage (1984), The Photograph (1986), Pamptohoi A.E. (2000), and To klama vgike ap' ton Paradeiso (2001). Valavanidis had directed theater productions, contributed musically to stage works, and published three poetry collections, with his work featured in Greek and international anthologies. He had been recognized with the Best Actor award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival for his performance in Nikos Nikolaidis’ Ta kourelia tragoudane akoma... (1979).
