Biography

Manos Vakousis is a Greek actor and director with a career spanning more than three decades across theatre, film, and television, and a graduate of the Drama School of the Piraikos Syndesmos. He has appeared in numerous stage productions at venues including the National Theatre, the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus, the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, Theatre of Kefallinias Street, Dimitris Horn Theatre, Theatre of the New World, Vasilakou Theatre, and Amore Theatre, while also collaborating with prominent Greek and international directors. In cinema, he received the Best Actor award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival for his role in Byron: Ballad for a Daemon (1992) directed by Nikos Koundouros in 1992, and the Best Supporting Actor award at the same festival for Viotehnia oneiron (1990) directed by Tassos Boulmetis in 1990. In 2024-2025, he was honored with the Karolos Koun Award for his performance in "O Episkeptis" by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, reflecting a body of work shaped by long-standing stage experience and consistent presence in Greek performing arts.
