Biography

Myrtle Vail was born on January 7, 1888 in Joliet, Illinois, USA. She was an actress and writer, known for Myrt and Marge (1933), The Little Shop of Horrors (1960) and A Bucket of Blood (1959). She was married to George Damerel. She died on September 18, 1978 in Kansas City, Missouri, USA.

She was a star on radio. She is best known today for playing in two of Roger Corman's ultra-low-budget horror comedies, A Bucket of Blood (1959) and The Little Shop of Horrors (1960), both of which were written by her grandson, Charles B. Griffith.

She was a vaudeville performer who moved to radio, and created the popular radio serial "The Story of Myrt and Marge" which ran in the 1930s-4'0s. She played Myrt and her daughter, Donna Damerel, played Marge.
