Biography

Waldo Urrego was born on July 22, 1945 in Bogotá, Columbia. He was an actor and writer, known for Crónicas de una generación trágica (1993), La mujer del presidente (1997) and 1977 (2021). He died on June 27, 2026.

His career formally began in 1962 at the age of 17.

He spent part of his childhood and youth in Quibdó, where he discovered his vocation for acting.

Joined the Popular Theater of Bogotá and later the National Theater.

He also lived in Manizales, Chaparral (Tolima) and Puerto Berrío (Antioquia), before returning to Bogotá to devote himself fully to theater.
