Biography

Werner Umberg was born on March 30, 1943. He is an actor and production manager, known for Murders in the Rue Morgue (1971), Arpad le tzigane (1973) and Making of a Prostitute (1971).

In the mid-1970s, Umberg retired from the film business. Nothing is publicly known about Umberg's later life. He later worked as a businessman in Berlin.

Umberg was married to Austrian actress Gerlinde Döberl. The wedding took place in July 1973 in the chapel of Amerang Castle, near Wasserburg am Inn; the couple had met in Munich in November 1972.

In 1973/74, Umberg also appeared in two episodes of the popular ZDF crime series Der Kommissar, where he played small roles alongside film and television stars such as Erik Ode, Ruth Leuwerik, Michael Ande, and Marianne Hoppe.
