She did her utmost to prevent the private diaries of her husband, Kenneth Tynan, from being published, and it was not until following her own death, 15 years after his, that they were. In these diaries, Tynan claimed that his wife had had affairs with many men during their 13-year marriage, including film director Bernardo Bertolucci and actor Warren Beatty.
