- Gary J. Tunnicliffe has been working in the film industry since 1990, primarily designing and creating special make up effects, working on over 130 feature films including entries on many of the most beloved 'horror genre' franchises including Blade, Halloween, Candyman, Scream, Exorcist, Feast, Prophecy, Mimic, Scary Movie, Children of the Corn, The Collector, Piranha and (most notoriously) Hellraiser (8 films)
He is especially known for designing elaborate and shocking death sequences which earned him the playful nickname 'The Hollywood Assassin'
At the age of 27 he wrote and directed his first feature, the science fiction horror film "Within The Rock' for producer Robert Patrick (Terminator 2, Walk The Line) since then he has directed multiple feature films including the acclaimed Hellraiser Judgment and has directed actors including Christopher Lloyd, Chevy Chase, Dakota Fanning, Chloe Grace Moretz, Lynne Redgrave, Katy Segal, Howie Mandel, Wallace Shawn and James earl Jones
He also written several produced screenplays, produced, directed 2nd unit, acted, performed stunts and puppeteered on a host of different projects.
Based in Los Angeles he has a design studio in Northridge, just minutes away from Hollywood.

- Tunnicliffe was involved with the Hellraiser series from 1993 to 2015. Constructed the famed Lament Configuration puzzle boxes for part 3, became make up effects designer for parts 4,5,6,7,8 and 10, applied the famous Pinhead prosthetic make up over 140 times all over the world including Los Angeles, New York, Florida, Montreal, Vancouver,Toronto and Romania. On various installments was a story consultant, prop creator, costume designer, actor, writer and director. Wrote, financed and directed the highly acclaimed Hellraiser short film 'No More Souls' (2004) and the 10th feature length Hellraiser : Judgment (2017) - which although made for just $350k regularly appears in critics and fans top 3-5 Hellraiser film rankings.
