Biography

Aleksandre Tsutsunava was born on January 28, 1881 in Likhauri, Kutais Governorate, Russian Empire [now Republic of Georgia]. He was a director and writer, known for Qristine (1916), Djanki Guriashi (1928) and Ori monadire (1927). He died on October 25, 1955 in Tbilisi, Georgian SSR, USSR [now Republic of Georgia].

First Georgian feature film director. Tsutsunava studied at Moscow Art Theatre School. He was assistant of Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko. Before film he worked in theatre in Moscow, St. Petersbourg and later Tbilisi.
