- Ivan Triesault was born on July 13, 1898 in Reval, Russian Empire [now Tallinn, Harjumaa, Estonia]. He was an actor, known for Notorious (1946), The Bad and the Beautiful (1952) and The Amazing Transparent Man (1960). He died on January 3, 1980 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

- He began appearing on stage in his native Estonia at the age of 14. When he was 18, he went to the United States, and began formal training in acting and dance. He appeared as a dancer and mime at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. He worked briefly on Broadway before getting his break in movies, where he was a character actor, playing mostly foreign officials and villains.
- One of Triesault's few sympathetic roles was as Pastor Martin Niemöller in the anti-Nazi propaganda film The Hitler Gang.
- In total he appeared in more than 120 film and television productions.
- His first stage appearance was at the German Theatre in Tallinn aged 12, before moving to the United States aged 18.
- In the United States he began to train in acting and dance working on Broadway before moving into film.
