Lyne Tremblay is a Canadian bilingual actor, singer, dancer, recording artist, and voice performer working across film, television, theatre, and music. She began her career in modern dance, touring internationally with the Eddy Toussaint Dance Company. She was cast as Cassandra in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s original Canadian production of Cats in Toronto. She then joined the Lyon-based company Le Théâtre du 8ième and went on a European tour as Sally Bowles and Fräulein kost in a spectacular rendition of the musical Cabaret that played the prestigious Mogador theatre In Paris for an extended run. In 2023,Tremblay originated the role of Mimi in the Hawksley Workman / Charlotte Corbeil - Coleman musical Almost a Full Moon at The Citadel Theatre. The Edmonton Journal noted: "Tremblay is by far the strength of the production, linking past, present and future in a tender and often comical manner." In 2024, she went back to the kit-kat club to play Frenchie in the very edgy Ovation Production of Cabaret in Ottawa at the Meridian Theatre. Other theatre credits include Anita in West Side Story, The Decadent Berlin Revue, Nava in the original Montreal production of Jerusalem the Musical, La La La Mine de Rien (which was recorded at the Glenn Gould Studio), Autour de Kurt Weill, and Albertine en cinq temps, an acclaimed production nominated for a Dora Award for Best Ensemble. After attending the Ottawa production, playwright Michel Tremblay described it as the finest version of the work he had seen, having attended numerous productions of the play internationally. Lyne also produced Gauche, a one-woman cabaret show that was unanimously praised by critics who called her "a cabaret goddess". On screen, Tremblay appears in the second season of the series Saint-Pierre, airing on CBC Gem. Her screen credits also include The Anniversary, Rosie, April One, Antigone, Mayday, Blue Murder, Street Legal, The Newsroom, E.N.G., Night Magic (soundtrack written by Leonard Cohen and Lewis Fury) and Atlantic City USA. She was also the inspiration for the Bravo Fact short film Rise Up , the only Canadian short film chosen to premier at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles at the Man’s Chinese Theatre. In voiceover, she served for over a decade as the French-language voice for Aveeno and Neutrogena. Tremblay is also a recording artist and producer. Her debut album Break’ n Enter (2004) earned critical recognition, including a National Jazz Award finalist nomination for Best Vocal Recording and a Jazz FM Top 10 release of the year. Her second album Get To It, released on April 24, 2020, was recorded and produced in Montreal by Matt Zimbel and Erik West Millette and mixed in Toronto by Jeff Wolpert. The album explores a gypsy-rooted, cabaret-influenced sound, featuring original compositions and interpretations in English, French, and Spanish. Get To It was released to great acclaim in the darkest days of the COVID-19 lockdown, where she created Living in Limbo, an intimate virtual cabaret, shot in her loft in Montreal with a single camera, in one long sequence, (no editing). She is a member of ACTRA, CAEA, and UDA.
