On an episode of
America's Most Wanted: America Fights Back (1988), a bank robber caught on the bank's security camera was featured who bore such a striking resemblance to Traylor, several people called into the show's hot-line stating it was really Traylor. However, he had an outstanding and rock-solid alibi, in that he was on the other side of the country wrestling in front of television cameras and a live audience at the exact moment of the bank robbery. In a follow-up AMW episode, Traylor was briefly interviewed about it, noting that with some bemusement that he was flattered people thought it was him, even asking viewers to call in if they saw anyone who looked like him, while wearing an identical (and distinctive) baseball cap worn by the robber captured in the video.
