Biography

Olaf Torsten was born on November 28, 1921 in Schneidemühl, Westpreußen, Germany. He was an actor, known for Des Lebens Überfluss (1950), Der Rat der Götter (1950) and Ist er gut? - Ist er böse? (1967). He died in 1996 in Berlin-Charlottenburg, Berlin, Germany.

Torsten received his training at the drama school of the Deutsches Theater Berlin and at the Hochschule für Musik Berlin.

In the late 1940s, theater engagements in Magdeburg, Berlin, Hamburg, and Krefeld followed the one in Plauen.

Olaf Torsten was a German film, television, theater, and radio actor.

While a student, Werner Rütting played a major role in the 1950 film "Des Lebens Überfluß". It was another 17 years before he was seen on television. Afterwards, he devoted himself to the theater again. In 1970, among other years in the play written by Arrabal: "And They Put Handcuffs on the Flowers" (Forum Theater Berlin, Kurfürstendamm).

He made his debut as a young heroic lead at the Städtische Bühnen Plauen (town in Saxony) in 1946.
