Ben Fong Torres was born on January 7, 1945 in Alameda, California, USA. He is a writer and actor, known for Like a Rolling Stone: The Life & Times of Ben Fong-Torres (2022), Cycling Through China (1982) and Americathon (1979). He is married to Dianne Sweet.

Was the last known person to conduct an interview with Jim Morrison. Morrison left for Paris, France, a few weeks later and died in Paris about four months later on July 3, 1971. This lengthy personal interview is available on a CD titled "A Conversation with Jim Morrison".

His father Ricardo Fong-Torres (born Fong Kwok Seung) had to change his surname to Torres and pose as a Filipino citizen to be able to enter the United States. At the time Chinese immigration was restricted by the Exclusion Act. The family later adopted a hyphenated surname, Fong-Torres.

Was a contestant on the game show Wheel of Fortune (1983) from September 14-16, 1993. He retired as an undefeated champ winning a total of $98,787 in cash and prizes.
