- According to clothing designer Valentino Garavani, he became romantically involved with Tolo in 1960, when she was 17 and he was 27. He proposed to her but she rejected him. She later married a multi-millionaire and had homes in Mexico and Los Angeles. They remained in contact and occasionally exchanged holiday greetings.
