- Petra Tikalova was born and raised in Prague, Czech Republic. After a successful career as a fashion model, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting, taking on lead roles in theatre, including Kobro, where she portrayed a Polish sculptor in a true story. She went on to star in the independent feature film Bunny, which received the Maverick Spirit Award at Cinequest and was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards.
Shifting her focus behind the camera, Petra studied filmmaking at Columbia College Hollywood, where she graduated as Valedictorian and was recognised on The National Dean’s List. During this time, she wrote and directed several short films and music videos, including My Little Jerry, which was nominated for Best Film at the AFFMA International Film Festival. She later earned a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production from Loyola Marymount University.
Her short film Observation, which she wrote, directed, and edited, received the Dreier Family Editing Award.
