Biography

Powys Thomas was born on December 25, 1925 in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, UK. He was an actor, known for The Black Arrow (1951), Jesus of Nazareth (1956) and Hawkeye and the Last of the Mohicans (1957). He was married to Ann Morrish. He died on June 22, 1977 in Pontypool, Wales, UK.

Immigrated from Britain to Canada

Performed for the first time at Canada's Stratford Festival, and for several years afterwards

Thomas co-founded Canada's National Theatre School, and later became artistic director of its English division.
