Anna Thomas was born on July 12, 1948 in Stuttgart, Germany. She is a writer and producer, known for The Haunting of M. (1979), El Norte (1983) and Frida (2002). She was previously married to Gregory Nava.

Living in a rambling ranch house on top of a ridge outside Ojai, California.

Wrote the classic vegetarian cookbook "The Vegetarian Epicure," which was published in 1972. Her second cookbook, "The Vegetarian Epicure, Book Two," was published in 1978.
