Biography

Mechthildis Thein was born in 1888 in Brunswick, Germany. She was an actress, known for Die Ratte (1918), Jettchen Gebert's Story (1918) and Homunculus, 1. Teil (1916). She died on May 13, 1959 in Singen, Germany.

Her film career came to an end in 1920 but before she left the silver screen she took part in two important productions - "Katharina die Grosse" (1920) and "Gräfin Walewska" (1920).

The actress Mechthildis Thein began her career at the theater where she appeared at the theater in Frankfurt among others.

When she joined the film business in 1916 she was able to launch a brief but successful film career.
