Sister Rosetta Tharpe was born on March 20, 1915 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, USA. She is known for Death on the Nile (2022), Walk the Line (2005) and The Great Debaters (2007). She was married to Russell Morrison and Thomas Thorpe. She died on October 9, 1973 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

Husband Russell Morrison was the former manager of the Ink Spots.

Gospel singer.

Daughter of Katie Bell Nubin, a.k.a. 'Mother Bell', was a traveling missionary, a shouter in the classic gospel tradition, and played the mandolin.
