- Although well known as an artist, magazine art director and design consultant, he was best known for his love of hamburgers (preferably with onion). He collected hamburger-related esoterica and wrote "Hamburger Heaven" (New York: Hyperion, 1993)which chronicled the American love of hamburgers. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Bowling Green University.
