Biography

Jahn Teigen was born on September 27, 1949 in Tønsberg, Norway. He was an actor and writer, known for Prima Veras saga om Olav den hellige (1983), Sigurd the Dragonkiller (1989) and Carl Gustav, gjengen og parkeringsbandittene (1982). He died on February 24, 2020 in Ystad, Skåne län, Sweden.

He became famous after his participation in "Eurosong" for the first time in 1978 with the song "Mil etter mil," which placed last. He tried again in duets with his girlfriend in 1982 and 1983 and placed higher with both, but he will always be known as the artists who got 0 points in "Eurosong.".

He is a musician, a comedian, and an entertainer who is one of Norway's most famous artists.

He had success in the 1980s as a musician. He was a member of a rather crazy entertainer/music group, "Prima Vera," until 1984, then enjoyed some success together with his wife "Anita Skorgan." He experienced a "down" period in the early 1990s: he got divorced and his career was nearly nonexistent. He made a small comeback in the late 1990s as host of the music program "Stjerner I Sikte." He has a daughter by his ex-wife.

When visiting London with his rock group Popul Vuh in 1975, he was approached by the rock group Genesis who needed a new lead singer after Peter Gabriel left for a solo career. Teigen said no and drummer Phil Collins took his place.
