She has had cancer twice. In December 1997, she was treated for colon cancer. In 2000, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Has four daughters: Angelica Jopling (b. April 24, 1997) and Jessie Phoenix Jopling (b. November 2005) with ex-husband Jay Jopling; Wylda Rae Johnson (b. July 7, 2010) and Romy Hero Johnson (b. January 18, 2012) with husband Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

She and Jay Jopling separated in 2008.
