Biography

Mary Taylor was born on February 13, 1915 in New York City, New York, USA. She was an actress, known for Soak the Rich (1936), Lady of the Tropics (1939) and Blossoms in the Dust (1941). She was married to Sam Zimbalist. She died on June 17, 2008 in Ojai, California, USA.

Was a close friend and associate of Indian teacher/spiritualist Jiddu Krishnamurti.

She was active in the founding of the Oak Grove School in Ojai, California, and the Brockwood Park School and Center in Hampshire, England.

As a young model in New York City, she was a favorite subject of photographer Cecil Beaton.
