Biography

Hirokazu Tanaka was born on December 13, 1957 in Kyoto, Japan. He is a composer, known for Pokémon: The First Movie - Mewtwo Strikes Back (1998), Pokémon the Movie 2000 (1999) and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (2018).

He composed the music for the Pokemon anime while still working for Nintendo. When the anime became an unexpected hit, Nintendo told Tanaka he couldn't work on it anymore. With that he left the company and joined up with Creatures, another company affiliated with Pokemon. He's has been President of the company since 2000.
