Biography

Dan Talbot was born on July 21, 1926 in The Bronx, New York, USA. He was a producer, known for A Bedfull of Foreigners (1996), Point of Order! (1964) and Echoes of Foreign Films: The Talbots' Legacy. He was married to Toby Talbot. He died on December 29, 2017 in New York, New York, USA.

Founder of New Yorker Films, a renowned importer and distributor of foreign and independent films, and owner of The New Yorker Theater, a noted revival house in New York City.

Was East Coast story editor for Warner Brothers.

Graduated from New York University with a literature degree.

Took over the old Yorktown Theater on Broadway between 88th and 89th Street in New York City and renamed the theater the New Yorker which he reopened with his wife in March 1960 as a revival house, presenting "Henry V" with Laurence Olivier and "The Red Balloon" as their first double feature.

Was film critic for the pacifist magazine The Progressive.
