  • After his death in 2018 and on June 2025, NHK reported that he had 130 pages of material and projects he was going to work on in his home that including a feature film adaptation of the famous Japanese story "Momotaro the Peach Boy", a prequel film to his film "The Tale of the Princess Kaguya", "Oeyama" an animated movie inspired by the story of the mythical demon leader Shuten-doji but with a comical take and "Moratta Hoseki" a animated feature film based on a children's story by author/poet/activist Kenji Miyazawa about a rabbit who obtains a precious jewel, is tricked into wrongdoing by a fox and loses his sight as punishment, must fix the error of his ways and drive away the mischievous fox with help from his animal friends.
