- Germaine Tailleferre was born on April 19, 1892 in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, Val-de-Marne, France. She was a composer, known for Torrents (1947), The Ladies in the Green Hats (1937) and Les deux timides (1943). She was married to Ralph Barton and Jean Lageat. She died on November 7, 1983 in Paris, France.

- In the 1920s Tailleferre was a member of "Les Six", a group of young composers who rebelled against Romanticism and Impressionism in French music. They were mentored by Erik Satie and publicized by Jean Cocteau. When she died in 1983 at the age of 91, Tailleferre was the last survivor of "Les Six'".
