- George Tabori was born on May 24, 1914 in Budapest, Austria-Hungary [now Hungary]. He was a writer and actor, known for Frohes Fest (1981), Chance Meeting (1954) and I Confess (1953). He was married to Ursula Höpfner, Ursula Grützmacher-Tabori, Viveca Lindfors and Hannah Freund. He died on July 23, 2007 in Berlin, Germany.

- His works often use sharp wit and dark humor to explore the relationship between Germany and Jewish people.
- Despite his family's sad story, he returned to Germany and lived in Berlin and Vienna from 1971.
- Translated works of authors such as Bertolt Brecht and Thomas Mann, but also wrote screenplays for Hollywood productions of Alfred Hitchcock, Joseph Losey and Anatole Litvak.
