- Zdzisław Szostak was born on January 13, 1930 in Sosnowiec, Slaskie, Poland. He was a composer, known for Three Colors: Red (1994), A Short Film About Killing (1988) and The Stringer (1998). He died on September 7, 2019 in Poland.
- Composer and conductor. He led a number of choral groups, mainly in Poznan. In 1967-71 artistic director of the Poznan Philharmonic, in 1971-87 deputy director of artistic affairs and conductor of the Lodz Philharmonic.
- Buried in the Catholic part of the Old Cemetery at Ogrodowa Street in Lódz, Poland.
