Steven Swimmer was born in and grew-up in Los Angeles, California.
Swimmer has a BA in Philosophy from USC and an MFA in Cinema Television production at USC School of Cinematic Art.
Swimmer was Vice President of the Indie film co Eclipse Communications (1990 - 1993) where he oversaw development, acquisitions, packaging and pre-sales for movies and television series.
Swimmer worked as freelance consultant at Philips Media (1995 - 1996), where he worked on the Comedic Interactive Game, "Don't Quit Your Day Job". His work included video production, digital asset management, green screen production, compositing, video post production and encoding.
Swimmer served as Producer at Grindstone Pictures (1995 - 2005) where worked in development, packaging, production and marketing.
Swimmer Served as a Web Specialist at the J. Paul Getty Trust (1996 - 2007) where he Managed Web products, technology, digital media, production, development and operations. Major efforts included launching videos on the site with hundreds of museum videos, leading major site redesign efforts, leading customized search, leading implementation of content management, leading major data back publishing systems.
Swimmer was Director of Online Content at Fox Broadcasting Co. (2007- 2010) where he worked in online product management, producing and strategy on Fox.com. Product management lead and producer on FOX Primetime Television show sites. Work with Design, Engineering, Network Marketing, Publicity, Show Producers and Talent. Product lead on Fox.com redesign.
Swimmer does public speaking and panel moderation, including moderating panels at ITVfest on comedy, music and visual effects and speaking about careers at USC School of Cinematic Arts.
Swimmer became CEO & Producer at Swimmer Media in 2007, where he helps businesses & individuals with digital strategy, marketing and production.
