- Rachel Sweet began her career as a singer/songwriter. Her debut album was released by British indie record label Stiff, and later albums were released on Columbia Records. She composed and recorded the title song for John Waters' film "Hairspray," appeared as an actress in "The Contest" episode of Seinfeld, and is currently a writer/producer for television.
