Biography

He was in the band Ming Tea with actor Mike Myers, Canadian musician/producer Christopher Ward, and singer Susanna Hoffs.

He is a big fan of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys.

The cover of his hit album 100% Fun features the twelve-year-old Matthew listening to the King Kong (1933) soundtrack. He claimed he purchased it through an ad in Famous Monsters magazine.

He co-wrote two songs with pop group Hanson, "Underneath" and "I Almost Care". "Underneath" is the title track to Hanson's 2004 release. "I Almost Care" is featured as a bonus track on the band's Japanese release of the album.

He is an avid collector of movie memorabilia, especially of actresses from the 1950s and 1960s - such as Tuesday Weld, whose image graces the cover of his third album.
