Buddy Swan's name was mis-remembered as "Bernie Dawn" by Johnny Carson during an interview with Dick Cavett on NBC's "The Tonight Show", episode dated June 12, 1984. Johnny stumped Cavett by asking the child actor's name who portrayed Charles Foster Kane as a boy in "Citizen Kane". This was in response to Cavett stumping Carson (and the audience) going so far as to offer $1,000,000.00 to anyone there who could name which actor portrayed the reporter who asked the first question of Charles Foster Kane as he was coming down off of the ship on his return to America.
