Alois Švehlík was born on 30 June 1939 in Pardubice, Czechoslovakia [now Czech Republic]. He was an actor, known for On the Roof (2019), Cerní baroni (1992) and The Three Musketeers (1983). He was married to Florentina Svehlikova. He died on 2 April 2025 in Prague, Czech Republic.

Svehlík was best known for his distinctive raspy voice, which brought stars like Jack Nicholson and Pierce Brosnan to life in Czech . In 2014, he received the Frantisek Filipovsky award for his lifetime contributions to dubbing.
