Biography

  • DANNI SUZUKI is one of the most influential artists of Asian descent in Brazil. She is an actress, TV host, director, screenwriter, and international speaker. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from PUC-RJ and a Postgraduate degree in Neuroscience from PUC-RS, where she also teaches in the Postgraduate programs on Digital Influence and Neuromarketing. With over 35 years of artistic experience, she studied acting and directing at the New York Film Academy (NY and LA) and has twice served as a juror for the International Emmy Awards. Danni built a solid career on one of Brazil's leading television networks, where she worked for nearly two decades, becoming a historic figure as the first Asian-Brazilian actress to star in a feature film in the country. She created and wrote a series for Amazon Prime in Brazil and also worked as a screenwriter for Prime Video in the U.S. Danni has been awarded as a director and screenwriter for her film "Pulso" in several national and international festivals, including the Olympus Film Festival and the Braziliam Film Festival (LABRIFF) in Los Angeles, as well as the Mar del Plata International Festival in Argentina. Following the success of the feature film "Segredos" in theaters and on Prime Video, for which she was nominated Best Actress at the Marbella International Film Festival in Spain, Danni returns in 2025 with the second season of the reality show "New Faces" on E! Entertainment, and joins the main cast of two new productions: (In)Vulneráveis on E! and "Capoeiras", a Disney+ series. A committed social activist, Danni Suzuki was recently named a High Profile Supporter of UNHCR, the United Nations Refugee Agency-an acknowledgment of her ongoing work in social causes, especially regarding refugee issues, which she has embraced passionately over the past eight years. Danni has been an active voice in campaigns such as #EchoTheseVoices, which amplified the stories of forcibly displaced women. She has visited refugee camps in Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, and along the Brazil-Venezuela border, witnessing the challenges these vulnerable populations face. These experiences inspired her to create the documentary "S.Ó.S.", a powerful project that shines a light on the struggles of refugee children in their fight for survival and dignity. Danni has also served as an ambassador for the U.S.-based NGOs "Waves for Water" and "Make a Wish," and has been leading her own social projects for over 25 years. A sought-after speaker with four TEDx talks, she is ranked among the top 10 most requested speakers in Brazil by DMT. In 2024, she was appointed Social Director of the Brazil-Japan Cultural Institute and became a founding member of the Neuroscience and Psycho-Spirituality Academy at UERJ.
